Environment, Energy & Transportation Scholar

Department: Environment, Energy and Transportation
Location: Washington, DC

The National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center) invites professionals currently enrolled in a graduate program to fulfill an internship with the Environment, Energy and Transportation Division (EET). The intern will assist in a variety of activities related to ongoing work in the division and based on requests for assistance from governors’ offices and NGA Center staff needs. This will include work on written products, webinars and workshops. Current initiatives include substantial work at the intersection of technology and policy including autonomous, connected, electric and shared vehicles, drones, advanced communications networks, smart grids, battery storage and microgrids, renewable energy, smart buildings, water infrastructure and cyber security: • Ahead of the Curve: Innovation Governors • Smarter States, Smarter Communities • Resilient States • Power Sector Modernization • Water Infrastructure Innovation

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong preference for current student at the graduate level who is studying public policy, energy, environment, transportation, urban planning, or other related fields. A familiarity with the use of big data is helpful.

SALARY

This is a paid internship at $15/hour during the Summer of 2019.
